Our mission:

Three years ago, King Nut Companies began an aggressive reduction of energy usage as well as recycling as much of our waste as possible. We believe it is the duty and responsibility of ALL American corporations to help ease the strain on our environment. We hope our actions will serve as a model for other companies, both domestic and foreign, to take the initiative to reduce waste and energy consumption and leave a little bit smaller environmental footprint. Here is what we have been able to do:

Administrative Level:

• Recycling of all paper used in the course of business
• Mandated that all employees turn off computer screens when not in use. This greatly reduces our electrical needs
• Attempt to preset thermometers to comfortable temperatures in order to reduce the furnace/AC units from turning on too often during work hours
•  Encouraging employees to only print when necessary and utilizing the two-sided print option.
• Eliminating the purchase of Styrofoam coffee cups

Plant Level:

• Replaced high cost lighting system with energy efficient T5 lighting
• Recycle all plastic and aluminum products used by employees
• Recycle all corrugated boxes and plastic film cores, as well as large plastic tote liners
• Keep machines not in use completely powered down

Annually, King Nut Companies celebrates Earth Day by planting trees and other plants. We also have several volunteers cleaning up trash and waste along our properties here in Ohio.

These are simply a few actions we take to help improve our community and use less of the earth’s precious resources.
